Marriage Lvl.2 Complete

2 years?! It has been 2 full years (as of yesterday) since we got married, which means it's only 3 years since we officially started seeing each other. It's difficult to comprehend because it really does feel like we have been together forever, in the best way.
While many marriages have struggled during the past couple of years, ours hasn't changed. We don't really have other friends, nor are we social people so we have not been forced to spend any extra time together that we wouldn't already. We want to spend all our time together and other than not being able to go to museums or the odd cinema visit anymore, how we live hasn't really changed.

I could gush about Mr H forever so before I start I'll stop myself and keep it brief. He is one of the kindest, caring, compassionate, hard-working, understanding, patient, fun, like-minded, helpful, overall wonderful people I have ever met and I love him very, very much. Having originally never wanted to get married it's proof of how amazing he is that I knew I wanted to be with him forever.

Below are our monthly couples portraits, from the past 12 months, that we have taken every month since January 2019. You can see the previous years photos here > Marriage Lvl.1 Complete .

Nine out of twelve photos away from home this year, not too darn bad at all! A step up from eight in 2020 for sure. Do we think it's possible to get back to a full twelve in 2022...only time will tell!
It's well seen that the phrase 'time flies when you're having fun' is true because the past three, especially the past two, years have flown by despite not being able to do much or go far.

As I talked about in last year's post, we have decided rather than doing silly presents for our anniversary we instead choose an item together that will be kept for life. The items follow the traditional material yearly gifts, last year having been paper and this year being cotton. It was a big back and forth we thought about for months, finally settling on this woven tapestry blanket that is to be displayed on our bedroom wall, for the time being, replacing an old, cheaper wall hanging. It is a design by artist Valdis Baškirovs and we bought it from Etsy. We already have the thinking caps on for next year!

Happy Anniversary to us! 🖤
