Disneyland Paris 2017 - Disney Illuminations pt.1

Last but not least from my May 2017 Disneyland Paris trip are the photos from my first ever viewing of Disney Illuminations - the new nighttime spectacular especially for the 25th anniversary. It's had mixed reviews and most people seem to prefer Dreams, however as much as I also adored Dreams, I think a lot of the reason for that is because we get used to something and miss it when it's gone...just like the parades when they end/change.
I did really enjoy Illuminations, to tell the truth...minus the Star Wars stuff (which I didn't photograph haha) because it still isn't Disney no matter what anyone says. Disney just bought out the company who it belongs to. It's its own fandom, but let's not get into all that again!
Here are some photos from between the tears.

Although like everything else, I didn't take as many photos as I'd have liked due to memory card failure, there are still quite a few so I'll be splitting this into two parts. Until then make sure to catch up on the rest of my photos from this series below!

Halloween Evening at Beamish - Part 2

I've been putting this off because once it's posted, the last shred of Halloween is finally gone :( Boo-hoo!!! Only 341 days to go until next year...well, less because we actually went on the 23rd haha. Please do pop over and have a peek at Part 1 from our evening at Beamish open-air museum before reading on, it has a lot more awesome photos!
As for the second part of the evening, we headed down to the 1900s town on the tram to hit all the spots on our map before time was up. The event was on from 6.30pm to 9.30pm which gave us only 3 short hours to cram in as much fun as we could. Here are some photos taken on a disposable camera and a couple from Claire's phone.

I think I mentioned it in the previous post, but I just want to say it again as I had a couple people on the night worry for my health/safety when chugging mouthfuls of blood, that my fake blood was actually edible, food-safe, mouth safe etc. Nah, it didn't taste too good, but heck yeah was it fun.

One of my top 5 picks for the evening was seeing the stunning vultures! They were absolutely beautiful and looked so unphased by everything...I asked the owners if the camera flashes were annoying or scary for them and stuff but they said it didn't bother them at all. Debatable. I'm sure one was 27 and one was 30-something years old. Amazing.
Other things we did were to visit the print shop, have a peek in the hall of mirrors (I like the one that the photo is of, the others were less flattering haha), entered the adult's fancy dress costume, sat in on a 'seance' but not really a 'seance', watched the bubbleologist and had our photos taken at the photographer's!

It really was such a great night. Remember to pop over to part 1 to see us at the scene of a hanging, the fire performer, my new slithery friend and way more. I know it's been almost a month now, but what did you get up to this Halloween? I'd love to see photos so make sure to leave me the link to any blog posts in the comments below.

Disneyland Paris 2017 - Part 5

Part 5 and drawing our first day to a close. After we'd had dinner (see the previous post - click here) we made our way back over to the Disneyland Park, parked our bottoms and waited for the parade. I have two separate posts all about the new parade and my experiences during it - Disney Stars on Parade pt.1, Disney Stars on Parade pt.2  - so we're starting this post off after the parade was over after we'd popped into a few stores and had a wander down Main Street to Fantasyland.
Something everyone needs to do on their first trip to DLP (well first proper trip for Laura) is It's a Small World. Some people hate it, others love it, some are annoyed by it and some live for it. I think it is the best! Especially since it's the last refurb. I took so many photos of it over my previous two visits that I will be doing a detailed post just on that ride in the coming months so for now here's just a couple snaps.

From Small World, we hit up Casey Jr. (something that has come to be one of my all-time favourite rides in the whole of Disneyland Paris), followed by a lovely sail around on Le Pays des Contes de Fées...which is another I will be doing a detailed, separate post on soon because it is so pretty and underrated.
I think I mentioned in the last post that I really didn't concentrate on taking photos as much this trip and I'm a little disappointed because 1. I usually do and 2. I have an awful memory. But I think we worked our way around Peter Pan, Snow White and Pinocchio before wandering over to Central Plaza and grabbing a spot for the fireworks pretty early. I went on the hunt for a water fountain to fill up my juice bottle but got distracted on a solo stroll in Adventureland, ended up not finding one and buying a slush instead and apparently while I was away one of the masses got engaged in front of the castle, how sweet!
Next post, the last, will be of the fireworks and I'll explain then why I took no photos on the 2nd day... :/
