6th September 2026 - WWT Washington
As I mentioned in part one, this wetlands trip I photographed a lifer - a Ruff! Though to some eyes Wader Lake looked (and sounded) much quieter than usual, there were actually a lot of gems to spot. 
We spent most of our time in the hides, which thankfully were pretty accessible in my powerchair and I could see through the window while still sat in my chair which is higher up than my manual wheelchair.
It's nice to know I can still go to the wetlands even if I can't walk far anymore.

(I promise these photos are all in focus on my computer, so hopefully they eventually load in their proper quality...)

The Season of the Sunrise

The time of year where the sun rises at a more acceptable time is here!
As much as I love living somewhere that experiences distinct seasons, in Summer when practically two thirds of a 24 hour period has sunlight it's a bit too much for me. Going to bed while the sun is up and waking up and it's alright bright presents an effect of suspended reality, where the days blur and the Moon and stars and greatly missed! 
These photos were taken on the 14th of September at 6am onwards. This is the perfect timing for me.
I'll revel in these days before we turn to the opposite end of the scale where we go to bed in the dark and wake up in the dark!
