31 Movies for Halloween Month

As mentioned in my previous post, Our October Bucket List, we aim to watch lots more movies this October and so I drafted this list of 31 movies we'd like to get around to watching this year. Some we've already watched earlier this year. Some we watch regularly, even yearly. We may watch others that are not on the list or miss some of these that we've already seen if it means watching something new to us.
Either way, this list is quite well representative of my particular tastes in spooky, thrilling, magical, fun Halloween viewing so if you want inspiration on something family friendly to watch this month see below!

 Hocus Pocus (1993) ✔️

The Haunted Mansion (2003)

Edward Scissorhands (1990) ✔️

Ghostbusters (1984)

Casper (1995)

Crimson Peak (2015)

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Sleepy Hollow (1999)

The Witches (1990)

Goosebumps (2015)

Corpse Bride (2005)

The Addams Family (1991)

The Sixth Sense (1999)

Shutter Island (2010)

The Watcher in the Woods (1981)

Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983)

Frankenweenie (2012)

Return to Oz (1985)

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad (1949)

Coco (2017)

The Reaping (2007) ✔️

Tower of Terror (1997)

The Others (2001)

The Sixth Sense (1999)

9 (2009) ✔️

The Woman in Black (2012)

Twitches (2005) ✔️

The Ninth Gate (1999)

Ghostbusters (2016)

From Hell (2001)

Benji the Hunted (1987)

Quite the mix eh? Of course, there are many Disney options on the list as well as some Tim Burton classics and Johnny Depp features too. You'll see I am not at all into the 'gore' genre and the over the top screamo horror type movies. I love paranormal and phycological thrillers and other ghostly, magic and all-around unharmful movies but can't enjoy things to do with blood and guts - blurgh!

I've ticked off the couple that we have already watched during the first week of this month and as of tomorrow Mr H is on holiday from work for a week which will give us plenty of time to cross lots more off the list!
