Our Full Funko Pop Collection 2020

After sharing our Full Pin Collection at the start of last month, I thought it would be fun to also share one of our other many interweaving collections - the Funko Pops!

When Mr H and I met, he had a pretty large collection and I originally thought they were a pointless waste of money (considering the pointless Disney stuff I have stashed away haha). However, when we moved the first time he sold a huge majority of them to not only make space, but some extra money to help fund the move.
I don't know what happened last year, but we ended up deciding to start collecting them again.
That being said we have put specific limits on the ones we do collect so that we don't spiral out of control and waste too much money. The aim now is to yes, buy Pops that we like and enjoy, but also that will retain or gain in value for resale in years to come.

Obviously, with having only started re-collecting in the past 6 months to a year, our collection is not too big. The bulk of it fits nicely on a small shelving unit in our 'Reptile Room', all of which can be seen above. Many are special edition, exclusives etc and most of those have already increased in value since release.
You can see that Disney is taking over and it's just happened that there have been a lot of cool new Disney releases in the past year. Marvel, Lord of the Rings and the Wizarding World collections will hopefully build up soon. Standouts for me are definitely my 3 Earth Day exclusives: Wall-E, Eve and Meeko & Flit, the Bushfire Hero with the little Koala and my Mickey Mouse 5 pack.
We had actually subscribed to Pop in the Box for a few months which is where a couple of the more random-looking ones (ie. Cthulhu) have come from.
In this room but not photographed is a 10'' Hedwig from Harry Potter who sits on top of the vivarium stack. It's not a favourite of ours and will be for sure one that we sell at some point.

The living room is also home to a few odd out of box Pops. We have a little Niffler who Mr H kept when getting rid of his collection and he guards our little tray of keys (they wind up the clock and stuff like that). Alongside Mr H's J.R.R Tolkien book collection are the Nazgul and Lurtz who don't have boxes and look great on that shelf.
Finally, our most expensive item of the collection. This we had to get imported from the US and despite it being worth the most (at least in the UK) it is probably one I will never sell because it is Mr Walter Elias Disney and the beautiful Disneyland Castle - so intricate, it looks great!

So yeah, that is our collection as of January 2021. We already have many pre-orders and things on the way throughout this whole year, so just like the pin collection, it will be super interesting to look back on in a year or so to see the changes.

Do you collect Funko Pops? Or do you collect anything at all?
Until next time...
