The Birds of 2025 - May

At this stage, is there any point in saying much? It's year 6 of keeping count of all the beautiful birds I'm lucky enough to photograph, and I can't stop now! Last year, I surpassed my goal and photographed 101 species all within the North East of England alone. I'm not sure if I'll beat that impressive number in 2025, but I'm happy to try. Just like last month, it was all thanks to one walk that I managed to add another 4 species to my list this month. Slow and steady! I'm now at 57 total species photographed in 5 months; however, a vast percentage of those are birds I will continue to photograph throughout the year, and the 'new' birds will be few and far between. With no real plans to travel far from home, it's unlikely that I will be able to photograph another 43 birds in 2025. We'll see...!
