World Oceans Day
8th June 2025, 6.45am - 7.45am.
Marsden Bay, South Tyneside.
''World Ocean Day unites and rallies the world to protect and restore our blue planet!''
There are over 700,000 species that call the ocean home, around 350 seabirds live either full or part-time, and with about 80% of the Oceans unexplored, those numbers are certainly a lot higher.
The Ocean is an important climate regulator. It produces over half of the world's oxygen and absorbs 50 times more carbon dioxide than our atmosphere. So why do we disregard, take advantage of and downright destroy such an incredible place?
